Job Title: Applications Engineer
Job Summary:
The Applications Engineer will be responsible for accurately sizing, estimating, and selling process equipment and packages for gas treatment technologies and other process plants. This role involves reviewing client specifications, preparing bids and proposals, sourcing quotes from sub-vendors, and supporting the sales process from initial inquiry to project award. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical or process engineering, with experience in the design and estimation of equipment for the Chemical, Process, or Oil & Gas industries.
Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately size, estimate, design, and sell process packages for gas treatment and other process technologies.
- Review client specifications and requirements to prepare bids and proposals that meet client needs.
- Source budgetary quotes from sub-vendors, and review them in accordance with RFQ requirements.
- Work on technical clarifications with suppliers for heaters, pumps, valves, fabricators, etc.
- Prepare cost estimates that align with the company’s technical and commercial requirements.
- Develop technical and commercial bid evaluations and respond to clarification requests.
- Maintain and utilize the company’s contract quotation databases and quote management systems.
- Adhere to all company policies and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
Skills and Experience:
- Education: Degree in Process / Chemical Engineering.
- Experience:
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in designing equipment for the Chemical, Process, or Oil & Gas industries.
- Proven track record in applications, sizing, estimating, and bid/proposal preparation.
- Experience in sales generation within the industry.
- Familiarity with design codes, major Oil & Gas client specifications, and the ability to read manufacturing drawings, PFDs, and P&IDs.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of chemical/process design and simulation programs like Aspen Hysys / Unisim.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
