Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management:

   • Oversee and manage all production activities to meet output targets.
   • Ensure efficient use of resources to achieve maximum productivity.
   • Implement and monitor production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.

2. Team Leadership:

   • Lead, manage, and mentor plant staff, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics teams.
   • Develop and train employees to enhance skills and performance.
   • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

3. Safety and Compliance:

   • Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
   • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a zero-accident culture.
   • Ensure compliance with industry standards, labor laws, and local regulations.

4. Quality Assurance:

   • Maintain high product quality through robust quality control procedures.
   • Investigate and address any quality issues promptly to avoid rework or delays.
   • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to uphold production standards.

5. Cost Control and Budgeting:

   • Manage the plant’s budget while maintaining production quality.
   • Monitor expenditures and optimize operational costs.
   • Propose and execute cost-saving initiatives without compromising on productivity or quality.

6. Maintenance and Asset Management:

   • Ensure proper maintenance and timely repairs of machinery to minimize downtime.
   • Develop a preventive maintenance schedule to enhance equipment life and efficiency.
   • Maintain an inventory of necessary spare parts and supplies.

7. Process Improvement:

   • Identify and implement process improvements for optimizing production efficiency.
   • Introduce lean manufacturing practices, such as Six Sigma, to reduce waste and improve throughput.
   • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

8. Supply Chain and Inventory Management:

   • Oversee material procurement, inventory control, and supply chain logistics.
   • Ensure timely availability of raw materials for production.
   • Manage finished goods inventory and coordinate with logistics for timely distribution.

9. Stakeholder Communication:

   • Communicate regularly with senior management on production performance, safety metrics, and cost control.
   • Collaborate with other departments (sales, procurement, finance) to align plant operations with company goals.
   • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, regulatory agencies, and government bodies.

10. Strategic Planning:

• Develop short-term and long-term operational plans for the plant.
• Contribute to company-wide strategic planning initiatives related to manufacturing and operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: 8-15 years in plant management or a similar leadership role in manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of production management, lean manufacturing, and safety protocols.
• Proficient in the use of ERP systems and production management software.
