Primary Responsibilities :
Job Title: Deputy Manager – Investment Operations (Mid and Back Office)

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Investment Operations & Compliance:
- Coordinate with the Investment Front Office to process investment transactions in the Credence system.
- Ensure investments adhere to IRDA regulations and are within prescribed limits.
- Establish controls to prevent active breaches and escalate passive breaches to the CIO and CFO.
Policy & Risk Management:
- Review and update the Investment Policy in line with changes in IRDA regulations.
- Identify risks and implement timely control measures to address them effectively.
Fund Accounting & Custodian Coordination:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date fund accounting records.
- Collaborate with custodians to ensure proper maintenance of securities and timely recognition of corporate actions as per IRDA regulations.
System Integration & Reporting:
- Ensure seamless integration of investment front-end, mid-office, and back-office systems with the financial accounting system.
- Work with the financial accounting team to meet internal and external reporting timelines.
Audit & Compliance:
- Drive system audits, investment concurrent audits, and ensure zero surprises in internal, concurrent, and statutory audits.
System Updates & Process Improvement:
- Keep updated on changes in investment regulations and implement them in coordination with the front office and accounting teams.
- Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and drive system updates for investment systems.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
- Regularly review and amend SOPs for investment operations to ensure control and compliance.
Daily Operations & Reconciliation:
- Perform daily reconciliations of custodian and bank accounts.
- Handle end-of-day activities in Credence such as interest accrual, amortization, valuation, and reconciliation.
- Manage settlement of deals in Credence, custodian, broker, and counterparty systems, including creating entity and security masters.
Internal & External Reporting:
- Ensure timely submission of reports for IRDA returns and other internal/external requirements.
- Prepare and submit investment portfolios as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
- Deliver reports and meet timelines for all internal and external audit requirements.
- Support the financial accounting team with investment-related queries and ensure proper documentation and records are maintained.
Experience Requirements:
Knowledge / Experience / Skills
Experience:
- Overall 5 years of experience in the insurance industry with knowledge of debt markets and mutual funds.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in investment accounting.
Education:
- Commerce graduate or higher.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Credence and Oracle Accounting systems.
- Strong understanding of IRDA regulations and compliance.
