Position Overview:
The Purchase Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing procurement activities in the FMCG or Pharma industry. This includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services to meet company needs while optimizing cost and quality. The candidate should have a strong knowledge of lab chemicals, raw materials, packing materials, and engineering consumables.

Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure consistent supply.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or disputes to ensure continuity in supply.
Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Analyze market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities to identify new opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations.
Purchase Orders and Inventory Management:
- Oversee the creation, processing, and management of purchase orders.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to manage stock levels, avoiding both overstocking and stockouts.
Cost Management:
- Monitor and control procurement budgets to ensure cost efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and enhanced procurement efficiency.
- Prepare and present cost analysis reports and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all purchased goods meet the required quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Address and resolve quality-related issues with suppliers promptly.
- Conduct regular audits and evaluations of supplier performance to ensure consistent quality.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and procurement documents.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
- Provide valuable insights and recommendations to senior management based on procurement data.
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor procurement staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Provide training and support to enhance the skills and performance of team members.
- Ensure a productive and positive work environment that encourages professional development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPP) is a plus.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the FMCG or Pharma industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
- Experience managing raw materials such as Rose Oil, Lavender Oil, Tea, Steric Acid, and various other chemicals and packing materials.
Skills:
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze market trends, data, and supplier performance.
- Proficiency in procurement software (SAP, ERP, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based environment with occasional travel to supplier sites or other company locations.
- Extended working hours may be required during peak periods or special projects.
