Job Description:
The Head of Corporate Sales (AVP) is responsible for leading and driving the corporate sales strategy, specifically focused on the Commercial Lines Business within the General Insurance industry. This role involves managing a high-performing sales team, building and maintaining relationships with key insurance companies, and ensuring successful sales planning and execution across the SME and MSME segments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in commercial insurance products and a strong network within the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Lead the development and execution of corporate sales strategies, with a focus on the Commercial Lines Business.
- Set clear sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics for the sales team.
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of sales goals across all assigned regions.
Relationship Building:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key insurance companies and their claims teams.
- Establish and maintain relationships with corporate clients, especially in the SME & MSME segments.
- Foster long-term relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth claims resolution and business continuity.
Team Management and Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
- Ensure the team meets sales objectives through effective leadership, motivation, and management.
Sales Planning and Target Setting:
- Establish clear sales plans and targets, ensuring they align with the company’s growth objectives.
- Provide ongoing analysis and reporting of sales progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet business goals.
Dispute Resolution:
- Handle and resolve disputes related to claims in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure the team adheres to best practices for dispute management and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Stay updated with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities.
- Leverage market insights to shape sales strategies and identify new opportunities for growth.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate data and reports related to sales performance, claims, and client management.
- Analyze sales and business data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
- 15 - 18 years of total sales experience, with a focus on corporate sales and commercial lines business within the general insurance industry.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in team management, including mentoring and performance tracking.
Industry Expertise:
- Strong understanding of Commercial Lines Insurance Products and the corporate insurance landscape.
- Established network and relationships with insurance companies, particularly in claims and corporate business.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and the local language is required.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and report on business performance effectively.
Other Attributes:
- Strong leadership capabilities and a proven ability to manage and motivate large teams.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to manage high-level negotiations and disputes.
- Ability to travel extensively (minimum 10 days per month) across India.
