Job Description:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving sales across multiple regions, managing a team of sales professionals, and implementing strategies for POSP sales, Retail, and SME business in the General Insurance (GI) sector. The role involves recruitment, training, and motivating the sales team, setting sales targets, ensuring business growth, resolving disputes, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Management & Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team across the designated region.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members to help them achieve sales targets.
- Set clear sales goals and monitor performance, adjusting strategies as necessary.
POSP Sales:
- Drive business growth through POSP sales by recruiting, training, and motivating POSPs to achieve sales objectives.
- Develop strategies to expand POSP networks and improve productivity.
Business Strategy & Sales Planning:
- Develop and implement sales strategies and action plans for the team to achieve targets.
- Oversee sales planning and set clear, measurable sales targets aligned with business goals.
Relationship Building & Networking:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local insurance company claims teams.
- Build and nurture relationships with retail and SME clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs.
Market Understanding:
- Stay updated on the General Insurance market, including trends, challenges, and opportunities within the retail and SME sectors.
- Leverage market knowledge to adjust strategies and identify areas for growth.
Dispute Resolution:
- Address and resolve disputes related to claims or other issues promptly, ensuring positive relationships with clients and partners.
- Work closely with claims teams to ensure smooth resolution of issues.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Track and analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
- Prepare reports on sales activities, including performance metrics, and provide insights to senior management.
Skills Development:
- Conduct training sessions for the sales team to enhance their product knowledge, sales techniques, and understanding of the GI market.
- Ensure the team is well-equipped to handle objections, close sales, and provide exceptional customer service.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
- 12-15 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a team management role within the General Insurance industry.
- Proven track record in driving sales and business growth, particularly in POSP, Retail, and SME sales.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Excellent sales planning, target setting, and performance management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the General Insurance market and business operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
Other Attributes:
- Fluent in English, Hindi, and the local language of the assigned region.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage data.
- Ability to work independently and travel extensively as needed.
