Primary Responsibilities :
Job Title: Site Manager
Reporting to: Contracts Manager
Deputised by: Another Site Manager
Location: Nationwide (Site-based)
Overall Purpose of the Job:
To manage the site throughout the construction phase, ensuring smooth execution and delivery of the project in line with the agreed timelines and quality standards.
General Responsibilities:

Serve as the single point of contact and responsibility for both the client and the Contracts Manager regarding any aspect associated with the site under your control.
Specific Responsibilities / Hard Skills:

Onsite Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and clients as needed.

Supplier Negotiation & Control: Ensure that suppliers meet agreed-upon terms, conditions, and performance standards.

Site Life Cycle Management: Oversee the entire life cycle of the site, from preparation through to completion.

Resource Planning: Manage resource allocation to ensure efficient site operation.

Customer and Supplier Liaison: Act as the main communication bridge between the site, client, and suppliers.

Site Design & Engineering Understanding: Ensure site operations align with the design and engineering specifications.

Proactive Documentation Approach: Maintain and update all documentation regularly, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Financial Responsibility: Manage site budgets, including reporting and invoicing.

Team Management: Build and maintain a harmonious and efficient site team.

Reporting: Provide detailed progress reports to the client and Contracts Manager.

Site Documentation Control: Ensure all site documentation, including passes, is completed and controlled.

Cross-Department Coordination: Facilitate coordination between managers and other departments.

Timely Delivery: Ensure the project is completed on time and meets all program requirements.

Technical Expertise: Provide or source appropriate technical expertise to resolve on-site challenges.

Hours Monitoring: Monitor and report employee working hours, ensuring compliance.

Health & Welfare Requirements: Assess and address first aid and welfare needs for the site.

Toolbox Talks & Briefings: Oversee regular toolbox talks and ensure they are recorded.

Accident Investigations: Manage accident investigations and ensure proper reporting to the Contracts Manager and HSQE Manager.

HSQEMS Implementation: Implement and enforce the Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Management System (HSQEMS) on-site.
Experience Requirements:
Work Experience / Technical Skills / Sub-systems Required:
Essential:
4+ years of site management experience.
Strong technical and commercial knowledge.
Proficient in IT and communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously.
Preferred:
Experience within the specific industry or familiarity with the complexities involved.
Ability to communicate with a multicultural workforce.
Preferred Educational Qualifications / Training Record:
Essential:
CITB SSTS Card.
NCCA PTS Card (if industry dependent).
IOSH Managing Safely or CITB SMSTS Course at Management/Supervisory Level.
