Position Overview:
This organization is seeking a strategic and dynamic Procurement Manager and Purchaser to spearhead our procurement function. This pivotal role involves developing and embedding procurement processes from the ground up, enhancing our supply chain with a strong emphasis on sustainability. The ideal candidate will excel in contract negotiations, lead procurement for large capital projects, and manage the cyclical retendering for core services.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Activities:
- Perform pre-qualification, negotiate supplier agreements, and manage tender processes.
- Receive purchase requisitions and handle procurement for all departments.
- Prepare and control post-contract transmittals and submittals.
- Edit and update procurement-specific documents and templates.
- Track and monitor RFQ addendums, proposal submissions, client requests, and other relevant documents.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead and supervise purchasing and procurement agents across departments.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team performance meets organizational standards.
- Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners.
Strategic Development:
- Identify areas for improvement to drive performance and business results.
- Assist in sourcing opportunities on global procurement portals.
- Ensure procurement practices align with sustainability goals.
Operational Excellence:
- Maintain a time-sensitive approach to meet all deadlines.
- Balance strategic planning with hands-on operational tasks.
Experience Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in procurement, preferably within the core engineering/industry sector, specifically in global procurement of products/materials.
- Certifications: Preferably CPSM/CPP/CSCP/APP/CIPP certified (not mandatory).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and tech-savvy to operate relevant procurement tools/software.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
