Position: Billing Engineer/Quantity Surveyor
Location: Mumbai

Experience Requirements:

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 20+ site-based billing engineers across India
  • Develop a senior billing engineer team to handle increased workload and project volume
  • Oversee all billing reporting and activities using SAP S4HANA ERP
  • Prepare and manage detailed bills of quantities (BOQs) based on drawings and specifications
  • Conduct site measurements and prepare quantity estimates for construction activities
  • Verify subcontractor and supplier bills, ensuring timely payments
  • Prepare and submit interim payment applications and final bills to clients
  • Maintain and update project cost records, including variations and change orders
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers for accurate billing and cost control
  • Review and verify client contracts and agreements for compliance
  • Prepare and submit monthly billing reports and cost statements
  • Monitor project costs, highlight discrepancies or potential overruns
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders and contract documentation
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve billing-related issues
  • Conduct cost analysis and recommend cost-saving measures
  • Prepare and maintain project cash flow forecasts and budgets

Qualifications:

  • Ideally a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. A Bachelor’s Degree with substantial experience will also be considered.
  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Billing Engineer or Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • 5+ years of experience in team leadership and management
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP or others) preferred
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and billing software
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
