Role and Responsibilities of a Sonologist
1. Performing Ultrasound Scans

Conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients using specialized equipment.

Assess various organs and body parts such as the abdomen, pelvis, heart, blood vessels, thyroid, and during pregnancy.
2. Analyzing and Interpreting Results

Interpret the ultrasound images and identify abnormalities or medical conditions.

Provide detailed reports with findings and diagnostic impressions.
3. Collaborating with Other Medical Professionals

Consult with referring physicians to correlate imaging findings with clinical symptoms.

Suggest further tests or recommend treatment options based on ultrasound results.
4. Patient Care and Communication

Explain the procedure to patients, address concerns, and ensure their comfort during the scan.

Maintain patient confidentiality and communicate results when appropriate.
5. Equipment Handling and Maintenance

Operate and maintain ultrasound machines and ensure they are calibrated and functioning properly.

Stay updated on new ultrasound techniques and technologies.
6. Record Keeping and Documentation

Maintain accurate records of all ultrasound examinations.

7. Specialized Expertise
