Civil Site Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision

• Oversee day-to-day construction activities: excavation, foundations, structural, and finishing works.

• Ensure execution according to approved plans, drawings, and project specifications.

• Report construction progress to senior engineers/project managers.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and labor teams.

2. Quality Control

• Monitor materials and workmanship to ensure adherence to quality standards.

• Conduct inspections and enforce regulatory and safety compliance.

• Troubleshoot construction issues related to techniques, materials, or manpower.

3. Site Coordination

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and consultants to ensure project alignment.

• Conduct and lead regular site coordination meetings.

• Maintain daily activity logs, inspection records, and safety audits.

4. Health & Safety

• Enforce all safety regulations and promote a “safety-first” culture.

• Perform risk assessments and take corrective actions when needed.

5. Project Documentation

• Maintain up-to-date records including as-built drawings, delivery receipts, and work schedules.

• Prepare detailed progress and incident reports.

• Track inventory and ensure timely material availability.

6. Cost & Time Management

• Monitor project budgets and promote cost-effective construction practices.

• Track timelines, report delays, and suggest corrective measures.

• Provide input for cost estimations and assist in budget preparation.

7. Client & Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the on-site point of contact for clients and relevant stakeholders.

• Resolve client concerns or complaints arising from on-site work.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of site engineering experience in construction projects.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, project workflows, and materials.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar construction/project management tools.

  • Knowledge of local and international building codes and safety standards.

• Soft Skills:

  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.

• Languages: Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency and Gulf experience are added advantages.

• Certifications (Preferred): PMP, LEED, or other construction/project management certifications.

Working Conditions:

• Frequent travel to construction sites as required.

• May involve extended working hours and exposure to outdoor conditions.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.

• Proven ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors.

• Familiarity with sustainable construction practices is a plus.
