Job Summary:
Artelus is looking for a proactive and skilled Biomedical Engineer to join our growing healthcare technology team in Kolkata. The selected candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and performance optimization of medical devices, with a focus on diagnostic imaging equipment such as OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) and fundus cameras. The role demands technical acumen, a strong problem-solving approach, and commitment to patient safety and compliance standards.
Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Installation & Maintenance
Install, calibrate, and maintain various biomedical instruments and systems.
Ensure optimal performance and integration of new medical technologies.
2. Imaging Device Management
Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot OCT and fundus cameras.
Regular calibration and accuracy checks of diagnostic equipment.
3. Technical Support
Diagnose faults and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently.
Liaise with vendors or service providers for repairs/replacements as needed.
4. Preventive Maintenance
Plan and implement routine maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
Keep accurate records of service reports, maintenance logs, and calibration data.
5. Compliance & Patient Safety
Ensure compliance with biomedical safety standards and hospital protocols.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments on a regular basis.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 3–5 years preferred; freshers with strong technical skills are welcome.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience with medical diagnostic devices, especially imaging tools like OCT and fundus cameras.
Sound knowledge of medical equipment calibration, fault diagnosis, and repair.
Other Skills:
Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., NABH, IEC).
Strong documentation and report writing skills.
Good communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
