About the Role
WestZane Security is seeking a Software Developer with 0–2 years of experience in software and application development to join our innovative and mission-driven team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge cybersecurity products tailored for the financial and defense sectors across the African Union.
You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of full-stack applications while learning from experienced professionals in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining secure web and mobile applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable backend systems and responsive user interfaces.
Participate in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipeline activities.
Write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews.
Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack.
Maintain documentation for code, processes, and systems.
Stay updated with emerging trends in software development and cybersecurity.
Technical Requirements
Front-End Development
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks: React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
Back-End Development
Knowledge of back-end languages: Python (Django/Flask), Java (Spring Boot), or Node.js.
Understanding of RESTful APIs; experience with GraphQL is a plus.
Databases
Familiarity with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Couchbase).
Understanding of schema design and query optimization.
DevOps & CI/CD
Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
Understanding of DevOps practices for automated build and deployment pipelines.
Cloud & Containers
Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
Version Control & Collaboration
Hands-on experience with Git.
Familiarity with project tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Slack.
Testing & Debugging
Knowledge of unit testing frameworks: Jest, Mocha, or Pytest.
Exposure to end-to-end testing with Selenium or Cypress.

Security Awareness: Understanding of secure coding, authentication, OWASP Top 10, and basic cybersecurity principles.
