Software Engineering Manager

About the Role

At omniXM, the Software Engineering Manager (SEM) plays a critical role in shaping both our technology and our engineering culture. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams while remaining deeply involved in hands-on development.

This role requires a rare balance of strong people leadership, architectural thinking, and exceptional full-stack coding ability. You will drive execution excellence while aligning engineering efforts with business and product goals.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership & People Management

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, QA testers, and UI/UX designers

Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and inclusive engineering culture

Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and create career development plans

Own hiring, onboarding, and continuous skill development for engineering teams

Resolve conflicts and remove blockers to ensure team productivity

Technical Ownership & Delivery

Remain hands-on with coding (≈50%) across backend and frontend systems

Own system architecture, technical design, and code quality standards

Drive best practices in SDLC, Agile processes, code reviews, and testing

Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software

Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve platform capability

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders

Align engineering roadmaps with company objectives and customer needs

Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership

Process, Budget & Governance

Define and refine engineering processes for efficiency and predictability

Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and delivery timelines

Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational best practices

Required Technical Expertise

You must be extremely proficient as a hands-on full-stack developer with:

10+ years of experience in software engineering

10+ years of hands-on experience with .NET Core / .NET Framework

5+ years of experience with Angular

3+ years of experience using Azure DevOps Services

Strong expertise in SQL / relational databases

Deep understanding of full-stack architecture, APIs, and scalable systems

Proven experience leading Agile/Scrum teams
