Job Title: Project Engineer
Role Overview
The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating and supervising site execution activities to ensure construction projects are delivered in accordance with approved schedules, budgets, specifications, and safety standards.
Working closely with the Project Manager and Planning Engineer, this role ensures smooth site operations, effective resource management, technical compliance, and quality control across all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Mobilization
Collaborate with the Planning Engineer to prepare detailed work programs and material procurement schedules.
Support the Project Manager in mobilizing manpower, equipment, and site facilities.
Implement the approved construction program in line with project objectives.
2. Resource & Schedule Management
Prepare monthly forecasts for manpower and material requirements.
Review daily work schedules, equipment allocation, and workforce deployment with foremen.
Monitor progress against the baseline schedule and address delays proactively.
Review Planning Engineer progress reports and advise on issues affecting quality, cost, and timelines.
3. Technical Coordination
Review construction drawings and identify discrepancies.
Coordinate with engineering teams and consultants to resolve design and technical issues.
Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings and specifications.
4. Procurement & Submittals
Source materials in accordance with project specifications.
Prepare and submit technical documentation and material submittals for consultant approval.
Ensure timely approval of materials to avoid project delays.
5. Site Supervision & Quality Control
Monitor subcontractor performance for quality, productivity, and schedule compliance.
Attend consultant inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Maintain quality assurance and documentation standards.
6. Safety Management
Monitor safety performance of all personnel on site.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Recommend and implement improvements to safety procedures where required.
7. Project Close-Out
Prepare as-built drawings and ensure completion of operation and maintenance manuals.
Finalize documentation and support project handover procedures.
Experience Requirements:
Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Professional engineering certification preferred where applicable.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in civil, commercial, or industrial high-rise building construction.
Direct experience supervising major construction sites, including high-rise buildings and towers.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and construction codes.
Proficiency in construction scheduling and site management practices.
Solid understanding of budget management and cost reporting.
Experience handling subcontractor variance reports and claims settlements.
