Primary Responsibilities :

1. Sales Strategy & Business Planning
Develop and execute national sales strategies aligned with organizational objectives, revenue targets, and market opportunities.
Define annual sales budgets, targets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales organization.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, customer insights, and industry developments to refine sales strategies.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new territories, customer segments, product lines, and strategic accounts.
Drive sustainable revenue growth and market expansion across assigned regions.
2. Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead, mentor, and manage Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Assistant Sales Managers (ASMs), and Medical Representatives (MRs).
Establish performance objectives, sales targets, incentive programs, and accountability measures for the sales team.
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development discussions.
Implement training and capability-building initiatives to enhance product knowledge, selling skills, and leadership competencies.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on results, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
3. Market Development & Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, stockists, chemists, hospitals, healthcare institutions, and healthcare professionals.
Drive product penetration, brand visibility, prescription generation, and market share growth across all territories.
Support field teams in managing key accounts and high-value business opportunities.
Monitor customer feedback and ensure prompt resolution of complaints, service issues, and product-related concerns.
Strengthen channel partnerships and optimize distribution effectiveness.
4. Product Launches & Brand Growth
Lead the execution of new product launches, promotional campaigns, and sales initiatives.
Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure successful implementation of brand-building activities.
Monitor product performance and recommend strategies to maximize market acceptance and sales growth.
Ensure effective communication of product value propositions and competitive advantages to customers and field teams.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Marketing, Production, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D teams to align sales activities with business objectives.
Coordinate product availability, launch plans, inventory requirements, and promotional strategies.
Ensure smooth execution of national sales campaigns and business development initiatives.
Support strategic decision-making through market intelligence and customer insights.
6. Reporting & Business Analysis
Prepare accurate sales forecasts, performance reports, market intelligence updates, and business reviews for senior management.
Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Analyze territory performance, product trends, and customer behavior to identify growth opportunities.
Present business updates and strategic recommendations to leadership teams.

Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Science (B.Sc.) or Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
MBA in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management preferred.
8–10 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical sales, including leadership experience at a regional or national level.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth within the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience managing large, geographically distributed sales teams.
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical sales channels, marketing strategies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Demonstrated experience in product launches, brand building, and market expansion initiatives.
Strong distributor, channel management, and key account management experience.
Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
Strong analytical, strategic planning, and business development skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficiency in sales reporting, forecasting, CRM systems, and performance management tools.
