Primary Responsibilities :

1. DHCP & BlueCat Administration
Design, implement, and manage DHCP services using BlueCat Address Manager (BAM) and DNS/DHCP infrastructure.
Configure and maintain DHCP scopes, policies, VLAN mappings, and IP allocation strategies.
Manage DHCP failover, redundancy, and high-availability configurations within BlueCat environments.
Perform firmware upgrades, patch management, and lifecycle maintenance of BlueCat appliances.
Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise DHCP services.
2. IP Address Management (IPAM)
Administer enterprise IP address space using BlueCat IPAM solutions.
Maintain subnetting structures, IP hierarchy, address allocation policies, and utilization tracking.
Ensure efficient IP address allocation across global offices, branch locations, and data centers.
Support capacity planning and future IP expansion requirements.
Monitor and optimize IP utilization across the organization.
3. DNS & Network Integration
Integrate DHCP services with DNS through Dynamic DNS (DDNS) updates.
Manage forward and reverse DNS zones aligned with organizational IP allocation standards.
Collaborate with LAN, WAN, and network engineering teams to align DHCP scopes with VLAN, routing, and network architecture requirements.
Support enterprise DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) operations and optimization initiatives.
4. Network Operations & Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot DHCP-related issues, including IP conflicts, lease allocation failures, scope exhaustion, and configuration issues.
Diagnose DHCP relay (IP Helper) problems on Cisco networking devices.
Perform packet-level analysis using Wireshark to investigate DORA process and DHCP communication issues.
Ensure high availability and operational stability of DHCP and IPAM services across multiple locations.
Participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis activities.
5. Security & Compliance
Implement network security controls including DHCP snooping, IP Source Guard, and rogue DHCP prevention mechanisms.
Ensure DHCP, DNS, and IPAM services comply with enterprise security standards and audit requirements.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Support compliance audits and security assessments related to network infrastructure.
6. Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor DHCP, DNS, and IPAM environments using BlueCat dashboards and enterprise monitoring tools.
Configure alerts, Syslog integrations, SNMP monitoring, and operational dashboards.
Generate reports related to IP utilization, capacity planning, system health, and service performance.
Proactively identify potential issues and recommend performance improvements.
7. Change & Incident Management
Manage change requests related to DHCP scopes, IP reservations, DNS records, and network configurations.
Support network migrations, infrastructure transformations, and new site deployments.
Participate in incident management processes, troubleshooting bridges, and post-incident reviews.
Provide technical expertise during service outages and critical infrastructure incidents.
8. Documentation & Knowledge Management
Maintain accurate documentation for IP schema, subnetting design, DHCP scope configurations, and BlueCat architecture.
Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Knowledge Base (KB) articles, and operational runbooks.
Ensure all infrastructure changes are documented and aligned with organizational standards.
Support knowledge transfer and operational readiness activities.

  • 5–10 years of experience in Network Infrastructure, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), or related network services environments.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise-scale DHCP and IPAM environments.
  • Experience supporting critical network infrastructure in large-scale or global organizations.
  • Experience with network migrations, infrastructure deployments, and operational support.
