Primary Responsibilities :
  • Supervise and manage daily garage and workshop operations.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor preventive maintenance and repair activities for heavy-duty trucks and company vehicles.
  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in safe and roadworthy condition with minimal downtime.
  • Allocate work to technicians and monitor repair quality and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot major mechanical issues and provide technical guidance to the maintenance team.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, tools, workshop equipment, and procurement requirements.
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance records, service schedules, and repair documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and implement cost-control measures.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to ensure vehicle availability as per business requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and workshop facilities.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate workshop staff performance.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, downtime analysis, and fleet performance reports for management.
  • Liaise with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers when required.
Experience Requirements:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in fleet maintenance, garage operations, or vehicle workshop management.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing heavy-duty truck maintenance operations.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy vehicle repairs.
  • Proven experience in preventive maintenance planning and fleet management.
  • Experience managing workshop staff, technicians, and maintenance schedules.
  • Knowledge of spare parts management and inventory control.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and maintenance documentation.
  • Good leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for reporting, record-keeping, and maintenance tracking systems.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Willingness to relocate and work in Angola.
