Job Title: Service Manager
Job Overview:
The Service Manager is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted service support for customers using Cummins-powered DG Sets. The role requires proactive management of service requests, breakdown resolution, and regular maintenance of equipment. As a key liaison between the service team and customers, the Service Manager plays a critical role in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and ensuring operational readiness of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
Service Support Management:
- Maintain 24/7 availability for customer support, addressing breakdowns, and assigning technicians for immediate response.
- Ensure timely resolution of breakdowns, which may require addressing issues during off-hours.
Technical Team Guidance:
- Lead and guide a team of technicians in troubleshooting, fault rectification, and preventive maintenance of DG Sets powered by Cummins engines.
- Focus on effective manpower management to ensure team readiness and swift response to service requests.
Customer Relations & Complaint Resolution:
- Resolve customer complaints personally if escalated beyond technician or engineer level.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication and site visits.
Maintenance & Equipment Records:
- Oversee scheduled maintenance compliance (B, C & D levels) to ensure 100% adherence.
- Maintain detailed equipment records and compile monthly reports on equipment conditions, breakdowns, site work, and technician performance.
Engine Overhaul Supervision:
- Oversee the overhauling of engines at the service yard, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Conduct pre-inspections of generators before dispatch to sites to confirm readiness.
Spare Parts Procurement & Vendor Coordination:
- Procure necessary spare parts for engines, managing orders for both local and overseas parts suppliers.
- Coordinate with vendors for repairs of engine sub-assemblies (e.g., fuel pumps, injectors, radiators), focusing on procuring quality materials and competitive services.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with in-depth knowledge of Cummins Generator engines and systems.
- Proven ability to manage teams, respond to breakdowns, and maintain equipment records.
- Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and vendor coordination.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure, especially during off-hours.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $1800 - $2000 per month (based on experience and qualifications)
